Newsletter 1 – First meeting of the Steering Committee of the project Biogreen 29th October 2015, Metaponto, Palma de Mallorca, via videoconference

The objectives of the project Biogreen is to acquire significant experiences through a comparison and exchange among qualified partners in the field of structuring management of advanced technology clusters with particular references of bioeconomy sector in order to develop and implement good practices for a “governance model” of the “Polo of Green” Biotechnology in Basilicata.
The Steering Committee (Francesco Cellini – head of ALSIA–CRMA, Maria Gallitelli – project manager at ALSIA-CRMA, Andrea Vallan – cluster manager at PTP, Tanit Mir – cluster manager at BIOIB, Rosalba Barone and Szabina Lengyel – consultants of Ce.R.T.A.) held the first meeting via videoconference on the 29th October 2015. The aim of this meeting was to introduce the partners of the project Biogreen, define the general objective and determine the activity of the committee. Andrea Vallan introduced the structure and action of the cluster Parco Tecnologico Padano (PTP), and then Tanit Mir presented the Balearic Islands Biotechnological and Biomedical Cluster (BIOIB). Dr. Francesco Cellini gave a broad overview about the activities of ALSIA–Metapontum Agrobios Research Center and described the tasks of the project Biogreen.
The project consists of three components: 1. Management and dissemination of information, 2. Exchange of experiences and demonstration activities, 3. Identification of good practices useful to define the governance model of the Pole Biotech. In order to realize these points, the committee will organize another meeting by the end of the activity, a website, and a study visit to the PTP (Lodi, Italy) and BIOIB (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) which will carried out from 16th till 20th November. To conclude the project, a final workshop will be held at the ALSIA–CRMA in Metaponto on the 15th December.
